Aw, that's okay, I'll be your friend!
Here are some of my favorite books:
Fiction
The Carpet Makers by Andreas Eschbach
The Sparrow and Children of God
by Mary Doria Russell
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
Freddy and Fredericka by Mark Helprin
Nonfiction
The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt
A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy by William B. Irvine
Stolen Focus: Why You Can't Pay Attention—and How to Think Deeply Again by Johann Hari
Also, some tips on how to make friends:
Find a group of people with similar interests. Maybe take a class. Colleges often offer community art and language classes. You could also take music or dance classes or join a community band. Gyms offer athletic classes. Churches might have Bible study groups. Charitable organizations, hospitals, political organizations, and museums may need volunteers. Pick something that interests you!
Once you find a group of people who have something in common with you, just start talking about those interests! Ask people about themselves and listen. Everyone loves a good listener.
